Saying we love animals is an understatement! The background is just a sample of the animals who have shared their lives with us.

From a very young age, we have both always felt so connected to all animals and we cannot imagine our life without having a menagerie of four legged friends in it.

We have been involved with animal welfare for a long time, mainly through fostering and re-homing strays, as well as fund raising for local animal rescue charities.

It has always been our dream to have an animal rescue centre but we couldn’t scale up our project in the UK so we decided to move to France.

Finally, after all this time, we now have our own fledgling horse sanctuary.

In the space of a year since moving to France, we had rescued ten equines, ranging from two foals to two veterans aged 29 and 31 years old.
Alison was known as the cat lady back in England, so it’s no surprise that we added to our feline family. We rescued 2 young female cats, one of whom was pregnant. A few weeks later 3 more arrived and we kept them all! Our latest four legged friend is a dog called Tibi. He was found on the streets of Romania with a broken leg. Tibi was very traumatised and was particulary scared of men, but he’s now besotted with his human buddy, Christian.

They’re now all safe and loved which gives us such joy.

But there are so many more we can be saving and we would like to expand which is why we created Happy Tales.If you would like to support our dedication towards animal rescuing, we are grateful for any donations, big or small, so that we can save many more of these wonderful animals.
